Salman Khan, popularly known as "Bhaijaan," is an Indian film actor, producer, singer, and television personality. Born on December 27, 1965, in Indore, India, Salman is the eldest son of the renowned screenwriter Salim Khan.

Salman's acting career began in 1988 with a small role in the film "Biwi Ho To Aisi." However, his breakthrough came with the film "Maine Pyar Kiya" (1989), which was a blockbuster hit and established him as a leading actor in Bollywood. Over the years, Salman has acted in several successful films like "Hum Aapke Hain Koun," "Karan Arjun," "Tere Naam," "Bajrangi Bhaijaan," and many more. He has won several awards for his acting, including two National Film Awards and fourteen Filmfare Awards.

Apart from acting, Salman is also a successful film producer and has produced several films under his production banner, Salman Khan Films. He is also a popular television personality and has hosted several seasons of the reality show "Bigg Boss."

Salman is also known for his philanthropic work and has founded the non-profit organization, Being Human, which works towards education and healthcare for the underprivileged. Being Human has also partnered with several organizations to provide relief during natural disasters and pandemics.

Salman has had his fair share of controversies, including a hit-and-run case in 2002, for which he was sentenced to five years in prison. However, he was acquitted on appeal in 2016.
